Sometimes, unexpected discoveries are made at the most unexpected place and time.
Just yesterday (30 May), a bomb was found inside a drain by the road somewhere in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur by some construction workers. PDRM in Sentul released a police statement and said that they have received calls from the public about the discovery of the old bomb.
The Bomb Disposal Unit immediately made its way to Jalan Taman Pusat Kepong where the bomb was found. Upon investigation, it was confirmed that the bomb was no longer active nor dangerous. The team also confirmed that the white-coloured bomb was known as Bom Mortar Practice 40 MM which was commonly used in military practice.
It is believed to be from the World War II period.
The bomb was later brought to IPK Kuala Lumpur for further action.
In the meantime, police in Kuala Lumpur have urged the public to NOT make any speculations about the discovery that may create panic & tension among the community.
If you discover any suspicious objects, you are not encouraged to take your own actions to avoid any unwanted accidents and instead do contact the authorities immediately.
