A restaurant worker has passed away due to severe injuries to his body and hands after a package left on the bonnet of his car had exploded near the restaurant he worked at in Pandan Indah, Ampang, yesterday (December 29).
According to a report by Kosmo, Ampang Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Farouk Eshak shared that his party received an emergency call about the incident at about 8:55pm.
“The victim, a local man, found that there was a package that had been left on the bonnet of a Toyota Corolla Altis car near the restaurant where the victim worked,” he added.
“When the victim held the package in question, an explosion occurred which was believe to be from the package.”
The 28-year-old victim suffered serious injuries to his body and hands and was rushed to the Ampang Hospital by members of the public.
“However, the victim could not be saved and was confirmed to be dead at 9:45pm last night,” he explained.
“Investigations at the scene also found some traces of the explosion, namely dents on the victim’s car. The cause of the incident is still under investigation and this case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code,” he added.
