With the state elections coming in less than a month, all political parties are doing their best to gain the people’s trust and confidence.
Syed Saddiq, who founded MUDA has recently asked Malaysians to give the party a chance to serve the people. He acknowledged that they have no control over the federal and state government, the media and the patronage system, but as a youth political party, MUDA is more than willing to be your voice of conscience.
“The voice of the people”
“We want to bring in new politics. MUDA’s candidates don’t have much experience but they have high idealisms. They’re here to serve Malaysians,” Saddiq said in a post.
This week alone, Saddiq announced and welcomed 10 new candidates from MUDA in 2 different Facebook posts whom he believes are fit to represent the people and voice out whatever is necessary.
“Allow MUDA to be your voice, the voice of conscience at a state level. 50% of our candidates are women with a good track record of service and activism,” he added.
The co-founder of MUDA also expressed what the party hopes to see developing in Malaysia and it’s not just about improving public transport.
“We want Malaysia to be a developed country with a world-class education system, public healthcare & a country which celebrates diversity, meritocracy & democracy.”
To convince the people, Saddiq also revealed the 5 principles that the party holds dearly for the sake of the country’s future,
- Saying NO to racial politics
- Helping those abandoned
- Pure democracy
- Inclusive and balanced development
- Climate change as a priority
The state polls have been scheduled for 12 August, with Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Penang, Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu taking part in the elections, as announced by the Election Commissions (EC).
In the past, MUDA helped a lot by personally going out to the field to help the flood victims when multiple places in Klang Valley and other states were hit by the disaster.
Do you think MUDA deserves a chance in the upcoming state elections?
