A 40-year-old man narrowly escaped death after allegedly driving under the influence and falling off a bridge from a height of over seven metres.
According to Harian Metro, the man was thrown from the car he was driving and plunged off the bridge after crashing into the back of a lorry on Jalan Pelabuhan Barat, Telok Gong, Port Klang, early this morning (July 2).

“He was believed to have been under the influence of alcohol”
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Assistant Operations Director Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar said they received an emergency call about the incident at 2:14 AM, prompting firefighters from the Pulau Indah Fire and Rescue Station to rush to the scene.
“The 40-year-old driver was thrown from the vehicle and fell off the bridge. Investigations revealed he was the driver and is believed to have been under the influence of alcohol,” he said.
Meanwhile, Kosmo reported that the victim sustained only minor injuries despite the fall, after a rescue operation that lasted nearly two hours.


Mukhlis added that the victim was successfully rescued at 4:12 AM and was handed over to Health Ministry personnel for further treatment.
“Based on the information received, the accident involved two Perodua Aruz vehicles that collided with a lorry,” he said.
