One of AirAsia’s most popular in-flight dishes is the Pak Nasser Nasi Lemak.
With piping hot, fragrant rice, flavourful chicken rendang, and all the little things that make nasi lemak so great, such as a hard-boiled egg, fried anchovies, fried peanuts and sambal, the Pak Nasser Nasi Lemak is one of the “best nasi lemak in town”.
The nasi lemak has been available at the airline’s restaurant, Santan, since December 2019 but now, fans can enjoy the brand’s signature dish for just RM4.90 without the hassle of dining in!
Designed specially with busy foodies in mind, “Nasi Lemak On-The-Go” is Santan’s signature dish, reinvented!
The nasi lemak now comes packed in an all-new super creative pyramid-shaped paper box.
Although the clever new packaging was unveiled just last month, Malaysians are loving it already!
An instructional video shared on the @santan_asean’s TikTok page teaching viewers how they can use the packaging has gained more than 300k views.
The shape and design of the packaging resemble how nasi lemak is traditionally served wrapped in banana leaf and brown paper wrapper.
It is made of cardboard and lined with a plastic sheet inside.
Netizens praised the packaging, calling it cute and genius. There was even a comment that said, “The person who designed this packaging should get a bonus.”
Ever the social media connoisseur, Santan responded to that comment with a behind-the-scenes look at how the new packaging came about.
The video first showed a 2D photo of the packaging design, then a 3D model of the pyramid-shaped box and finally, the full-fledged folded packaging with colours and text.
