Just last night (April 12), YDPA shared the latest collection of his car via a Facebook post.
The Royal Highness became the first owner in the world to receive a Chinese-made train vehicle, the Hongqi L5. Sultan Ibrahim welcomed the Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia, Ouyang Yujing yesterday, and the meeting with His Majesty was to discuss bilateral relations between Malaysia and China as well as current issues relating to the two countries.
“In this welcoming session, Your Majesty is pleased to provide views on the direction of diplomatic relations between the 2 countries and the need to identify opportunities for wider cooperation.”
According to the Facebook post of the Royal Highness, the President of FAW Hongqi Global, Wang Lingyu, business figures Tan Sri Lim Kok Thay and Datuk Lim Chee Wah were also present during the meeting.
His Majesty also hopes that more Chinese companies will invest in Malaysia, thereby creating more job opportunities for the people of this country. The car features a retro design and is used by China’s top leaders for state and diplomatic events.
“Seri Paduka hopes that Malaysia will use its efforts to utilize and increase the amount of trade, exchange technology and also develop exports to China.”
According to a report by New Straits Times, the car was launched in 2014 and it is a Chinese take on the Rolls Royce Phantom. It is powered by the first indigenously self-developed, Hongqi V-type, 12-cylinder, total-aluminium engine which adopts a V-type 60-degree angle, with four valves on each cylinder, independent air vent systems and low speed with high torque reaching 440Nm/1000rpm.
