Remember the orange cat that tried to camouflage itself by blending and living among the capybaras at Zoo Negara? Well, the national zoo eventually caved in and ‘officially’ allowed the feline to stay there.
Well, now it seems that ‘Oyen’ has got a new competition as there’s been another cat spotted trying to live among the capybaras at the enclosure.
However, we’re pretty sure the new cat, nicknamed ‘Tompok’ with black, brown and white fur won’t blend in as easily as Oyen.
Shared by user @masyitaahmadshaza on TikTok, a 24-second video showed how Tompok tried to infiltrate the capybaras’ enclosure while Oyen looks cautiously at its new competitor.
Meanwhile, in the background, the capybaras couldn’t care less and just continued living their lives like normal.

In the video’s comments section, many Malaysians were amused by the antics of the two felines, with some even wondering whether the Zoo Negara enclosure is for capybaras or a shelter for cats.
One commenter said that the capybaras must be wondering whether that’s their home or the cats’ as day by day, more cats are coming to live there.
Meanwhile, another commenter found it ironic how the cats are befriending the capybaras, which are technically rodents, given how cats are always associated to be sworn enemies of rats.
What do you guys thin of Tompok infiltrating the capybaras’ (and Oyen’s) territory? Share your thoughts with us in the comments!
