The precaution that comes along with the term “wild animal” can never be underestimated. The adjective for those creatures is there for a purpose. However, there are moments where these instances can also be disproven in a rather heart-warming sequence of events.
TikTok creator and firefighter Mohd Faizan recently captured one of these instances when he was dealt the task of releasing a wild monkey back into the forest. Working at the Kijal Fire and Rescue Station in Terengganu, Faizan shared a TikTok video to his account @pjesingo2 of himself with the monkey once they reached a deserted area of greenery.
In the clip, Faizan, who is holding the monkey, attempts to put it on the ground. However, as quickly as he does this, the monkey roams around the firefighter. Moments later, he jumps on Faizan’s back and climbs on him playfully. Entertaining the animal, Faizan spins a couple of times as it climbs to sit on his shoulder.
Comfortable and content, the monkey continued to sit on Faizan’s shoulder despite the firefighter attempting to take him down. Eventually, the monkey jumps off onto the ground, with the clip ending just moments after that.
Touching hearts across the platform, a few users stated that the monkey had a clear bond with Faizan, saying that it wanted to stay with him. One responder even said they would have taken the monkey home upon seeing its reaction.
“He knows he’s being left there, that’s why he’s holding on, so he can follow you. If it was me, I’d just keep him and take him home,” jokingly wrote one user.
However, multiple individuals also praised Faizan for being gentle when handling the monkey, and despite the animal being an untamed creature, it definitely had affection for him.
In a brief conversation with WORLD OF BUZZ, Faizan stated that his department received a call from a nearby school about the monkey having entered their grounds, requesting help from the firefighter to remove it from the premises.
“I think took him far away from the school, and it’s somewhere nearby the fire station. Our station is close to a coastal forest, so I released him there and he eventually went on his way,” said Faizan to WORLD OF BUZZ.
And while their interaction was brief, Faizan did say that the monkey took to him upon their meeting.
