The staff at an animal rescue centre in the UK was heartbroken when an abandoned dog with a note attached to its collar was found tied to a tree by her owner.
Reported in The Mirror, Roadie, a half-German Sheperd/Australian Sheperd was left to find a new owner, after his daddy explained that he lost his job and soon his home.
The note reads, “My name is Roadie. I was rescued from a litter of 10. I’m half-German shepherd, and half Australian shepherd.”
“I know basic commands like sit, lay down, shake, and rollover. I like to play and am full of energy. I love to chew on toys and tear them apart if it has a squeaker!”
“I have been (de)wormed and spayed. I also have my rabies shot.”
“I was a spoiled girl, my dad gave me my own couch to lay on and my own memory foam bed. He also fed me steak, chicken, and rice. But my primary food was Iams lamb and rice.”
“Please if you find me give me a good home and love. And maybe a friend! I love children and play well with other dogs.”
“My dad lost his job and soon his home from Covid-19. Please pray for him and give him hope that I will find a good home!”
That is really, really sad.
However, there is light at the end of the tunnel for Roadie. According to the Johnson County Animal Shelter she is currently staying in, many suitors have posted plenty of inquiries to adopt her.
As responsible pet owners, it is important to never release an animal anywhere on its own.
Take Roadie for instance. She could have been struck by a vehicle, attacked by wild animals etc. So do the right thing and get in touch with your local shelter.
