As shared by Sohu, the marriage went viral on Chinese social media, whereby the woman, Xiaofang, fell in love with 80-year-old Li after they met at a retirement home where Li was staying.

It was a chance meeting because Xiaofang had volunteered at the old folks’ home.

While she was volunteering there, Xiaofang became close with Li after finding out they share the same interests and hobbies.

Over time, they grew even closer, with Xiaofang saying that she was attracted by Li’s maturity, stability and wisdom.

Meanwhile, Li was attracted to Xiaofang’s youthfulness and kindness.

However, Xiaofang’s family was against the relationship due to the massive age gap and even thought that Li was taking advantage of Xiaofang.

After careful consideration, the 23-year-old woman decided to follow her heart and chose to marry Li and broke off relations with her family.

Xiaofang stressed that as long as Li was around, she could bravely face the challenges without her family.

The couple held a simple wedding in Hebei province and exchanged vows to love each other forever.

Congratulations to the newly weds!
