Just 3 days ago, it was reported that 2 Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM) helicopters crashed at the TLDM Camp in Lumut, Perak, during a rehearsal session for the 90th Anniversary of TLDM. 10 officers tragically lost their lives in the crash.

And while most people would share their sympathies and condolences, one 36-year-old Malaysian man decided to say something not-so-nice about the late officers and has since been punished for his actions!

According to a report by Sinar Harian, the man was fined a whopping RM23,000 by the Taiping Sessions Court today (April 26), after he decided to mock the victims of the helicopter crash in a Twitter post.

Fine 1

His Twitter post basically read, “It’s just a rehearsal and they died. They didn’t get to go to war. (Face palm emoji)

Judge Nabisha Ibrahim handed down the sentence against the man who pleaded guilty.

He has since paid his fine and also apologised to the families of the deceased.

Fine 2

“Sincerely, I apologise to all the family members of the victims and the military personnel,”

“I am truly sorry for my behaviour. Here I (also) want to sincerely apologise to any member of the public and all Malaysians in general who were affected by my ‘post’,” he said at the Taiping Sessions Court.

How about this? Let’s all practice not saying anything at all, should we not have anything nice to say.
