Ukraine is currently doing its best to put a stop to the fake vaccination certificate syndicate that is thriving in the country. In a recent video shared by Reuters, a squad of Ukrainian police was seen raiding one of the places that forge vaccine certificates and one of the culprits behind it is a doctor.

The televised raid is one of the hundreds of criminal clampdowns by the government on a flourishing black market business to forge vaccine and Covid-19 test documents as well as certificates.

Ukraine is currently experiencing a spike in Covid-19-related death rates and it is struggling to persuade a sceptical population to get vaccinated. Recently, only about 7 million out of the 41 million Ukrainians are fully vaccinated and surveys have revealed that 50% of adults refuse to be vaccinated.

To combat this, the government has made it compulsory for people to get vaccinated if they want to go to work, dine in and also go to sporting events. This has made some Ukrainians get vaccinated, however, some took advantage in profiting by providing fake vaccine certificate services.

Watch the video here:

In Ukraine, vaccine hesitancy occurred way before the pandemic and it led to a measles outbreak in the country back in 2019 when a black market in fake certificates also thrived. Hopefully, more and more people, not only in Ukraine, will come to their senses and get vaccinated.
