We have heard of all manner of thefts being reported, from smartphones to jewellery – usually high-ticket items that are easily pocketed without anybody noticing. But there are some thieves that don’t settle for less, as this gang of hoodlums in Negeri Sembilan goes to show!
As reported on Harian Metro, on Wednesday night (4th of September 2019) members from a notorious group of thieves that have been known to operate in Negeri Sembilan and other Southern regions of Malaysia were caught after stealing 58 cows in a daring heist! What?!
According to Rembau Police Chief Deputy Superintendent Anuar Bakri Abdul Salam, a report was made by a local cattle farm owner in Kampung Kendong Baru after he was attacked by 8 armed men who stormed into his property on the evening of 30th of August 2019. “The suspects tied up and blindfolded the victim and five of his employees before making off with 58 cows, using what were believed to have been lorries.” added the Deputy Superintendent. The victim suffered losses of up to RM200,000 due to the incident. That’s a lot of money!
Fortunately enough for the cattle owner, the authorities took immediate action following the report and managed to arrest 5 local men between the ages of 29 and 51 around Negeri Sembilan and in Kuala Kangsar, Perak. 41 of 58 stolen cows were also recovered, along with 4 smartphones and a Toyota Vios sedan.
The suspects will be remanded for six days to help with investigations, and will be charged under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code. However, the leader of the gang, a 32-year-old man named R Chandran, remains at large. If you have any information regarding this man, please contact Inspector Muhammad Danial Abd Rohim at 06-6851999 or 013-2226085.
