Beef

For those from Ipoh, this is a cafe that needs no introduction. Opened in September 2012 by Dexter Song, whose mom Julie is the brainchild behind the Indulgence and Allegra, this cafe has satisfied the palates of many with its innovative cuisine. It is also famed for its Bam-Bam Burger which consists of a wagyu beef pattie.

3) Buku Tiga Lima

Buku Tiga Lima

Buku Tiga Lima is located right beside Burps and Giggles and under their management as well. There are no signboards indicating its presence, only an aged sign outside showing that it used be a tailor. So if you’ve just had a satisfying meal at B&G and like something sweet, have a look at their selection. They have sweet and savory crepes, bagels and churros for you to choose from.

Address: 93 and 95, Jalan Sultan Yussuf, 30000, Ipoh, Perak

Tel: 05-2426188

Operating Hours : 8am – 8pm. Closed on Tuesdays

4) Missing Marbles

Mm

If you were to drive by Jalan Sultan Yussuf, you may be forgiven for thinking that the shop with a couple of spectacles on the yellow signboard is an optometrist. If you were to pay closer attention, you might find a small unassuming sign hanging by the pillar giving you a clue as to what’s really inside. Missing Marbles, also under the management of Burps and Giggles, boasts a more Asian theme with offerings like ramen, mee siam and rojak.

Address: 99, Jalan Sultan Yussuf, 30000, Ipoh, Perak

5) The Roquette Cafe

Cafe de Eight takes some effort to hunt for – it’s located in a back lane away from the main street in Ipoh Old Town. Opened in early 2014, they are known for their desserts and burgers. If you’re from out of town, feel free to send a postcard from the cafe too.

Address: 8, Jalan Koo Chong Kong, 30000, Ipoh, Perak.

If it is not already obvious from the moment you walked in Patisserie Boutique, this is a Parisian themed cafe. They specialize in desserts so go check them out in Ipoh Old Town for your sugar fix! They do serve other savory dishes too which is equally as great as their pastries.

Address: 103, Jalan Sultan Yussuf, 30000, Ipoh, Perak
