A 6-year-old boy was injured after getting bitten by a python when he was going to the toilet at his home in Apartment Prima Court, Ampang Jaya, yesterday afternoon (February 11).

According to a report by Berita Harian, the incident was reported at around 11am, when the boy, who is named Hadi, went into the toilet in the main bedroom on the 4th floor of the residence building. His mother, Adibah Aziz, shared that her son was bitten by the python when he opened the toilet bowl lid to urinate.

“At that time, I was cooking in the kitchen before I heard my son scream and rush out of the room with blood dripping. He informed me that he had been bitten by a snake before I went out to ask for help from the neighbours to immediately contact an ambulance and the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM),”

“At the time of the incident, only me, Hadi and my 1-year-old child were at home,” she said.

The boy was rushed to the Ampang Hospital before being held there for follow-up treatment.

“Hadi suffered injuries to his groin and hand as a result of being bitten by the python. Alhamdulillah, the doctor informed him that he is in stable condition,”

“I do not deny that, the fact that our residence is located near the National Zoo and is surrounded by forest, is the reason why so many snakes are found in our residential area,” she added.

The Gombak District APM rushed to the location at about 12:45pm and managed to capture the snake before taking it back to their department.
