Keeping track of where your kids go is probably a really good idea, because you can’t tell what sort of the mischievous things they may get themselves into. After all, their curiosity and naïvety often gets them into lots of trouble.
But in some instances, their mischief can have some dire, if not altogether irreversible consequences when these kids put themselves in harm’s way. In a story published by Harian Metro, a 3-year-old boy wound up drowning in a septic tank in the housing quarters of the Balik Pasir Puteh police station in Ipoh today (8th October 2019).
The victim, Mohammad Anas Hadif Ahmad Hafiz, fell into the open septic tank and couldn’t get himself out, before drowning in the liquid sewage stored within.
According to a spokesperson from the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia, they received an emergency call at around 8.16am this morning.
Members of the emergency services who arrived on the scene used a pump to drain the septic tank to ease the removal of the boy’s body from within. “The boy’s body was handed over to the police for further investigations before the operation ended at 9.36am.”
The boy’s body has been sent to Hospital Raja Permaisuri for a forensic autopsy and was buried later during the day.
We hope that the boy will be able to rest in peace, and we extend our condolences to his family. Please always be sure to keep a close watch on your kids, so that they remain safe and sound!
