A video has recently gone viral on social media, showing a man firing several gunshots into the air at a temple in Kuala Selangor, Selangor.
Police have since arrested the man involved in the incident, which happened during a prayer ceremony last Sunday (August 31) at a temple in Ladang Bukit Badong, Bestari Jaya.


Hindu devotees were carrying out prayers
Kuala Selangor District Police Chief Supt. Azaharudin Tajudin said the 55-year-old suspect was arrested in Petaling Jaya around 8 PM on Monday (September 1), as reported by BERNAMA.
He added that police received a report on the case at about 3:50 PM after the incident started making rounds on social media.
“Investigations found that the incident was believed to have happened around 11:30 AM while Hindu devotees were carrying out prayers at the temple, before the man suddenly fired several shots into the air,” he said.


The suspect will be remanded for 3 days
Azaharudin added that acting on information, a team from the Selangor Criminal Investigation Department (D9), together with the Kuala Selangor Police, managed to arrest the suspect in Petaling Jaya to help with the investigation.
The suspect has been remanded for three days until September 4, with the case being probed under Section 39 of the Firearms Act 1960.
