A shocking death happened at Hong Kong Disneyland late last month, involving the demise of a 53-year-old tourist from the Philippines.
The man collapsed while on the ‘Frozen Ever After’ ride with his wife on August 29 and lost his life afterwards.

A 53-year-old tourist dies while on the Frozen Ever After ride at Hong Kong Disneyland
Frozen Ever After, located in the World of Frozen land section of the theme park, has been in operation since late 2023. The ride is open to guests of all ages and heights, though pregnant women are advised not to participate. The deceased man, however, had a pre-existing heart condition.
Emergency personnel at Hong Kong Disneyland tried to resuscitate him before sending him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead in less than two hours.
The man’s wife told police that her husband suffered from hypertension and other heart-related issues, for which he required regular medication and check-ups.
Incident NOT related to ride safety
According to the management of the park, the man’s death had nothing to do with ride safety. However, the ride was temporarily closed for “operational safety” before it was opened to the public again.
The Philippine Consulate-General in Hong Kong confirmed the incident on Aug. 30, saying it was coordinating with local authorities to assist the family with repatriating the body, reported South China Morning Post and the Straits Times.

Three weeks prior to the death in Hong Kong Disneyland, a tourist, also from the Philippines, lost his life after being struck by a taxi outside a hotel in the Tsuen Wan West district. The 80-year-old taxi driver reportedly lost control of his vehicle, which caused the fatal accident.
Police also launched an investigation after the death of the 53-year-old in Hong Kong Disneyland.
