What should one do if they get stuck in a tree? Whatever you do, don’t try this at home.
According to Jabatan Bomba dan Penyelamat Malaysia, it was reported that a Korean man was seen stuck on a tree 50 metres in the air while he was paragliding.
Operations Commander PBK II Mohamad Faizal bin Alias mentioned the Sabah Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call about the incident at 1:51 pm via the MERS999 hotline.
“With the landowner and a guide, they trekked for over 1km from the spot where the victim had taken off.”
Upon reaching the scene, the rescue team successfully brought down the 40-year-old man safely using a lowering system at 4:12 pm and provided him with proper treatment. Fortunately, the man sustained no injuries.
Netizens swiftly filled the comment section to express their thoughts on the situation.
“Good job to our national heroes.”
“We’re fortunate to have the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department always ready to assist people. Otherwise, the man would have remained stuck there indefinitely. Why did he end up there in the first place when he could have just hit the brakes?”
