A 4×4 truck driver got into a dispute with a Perodua Myvi driver at a traffic light in Bukit Raja, Klang, near AEON Mall.

Based on viral dashcam footage, the truck driver hit the Myvi before exiting his vehicle and threatening the other driver, despite the presence of a traffic police officer who attempted to intervene.

The truck driver was seen punching the window and repeatedly kicking the door of the Myvi.

He later fled the scene.

Despite the victim’s intention to only claim insurance for the damages and not pursue legal action, Klang police are continuing efforts to track down the suspect.

North Klang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner S. Vijaya Rao, stated that the incident occurred at 6:15 pm on Thursday (July 17), according to an official PDRM statement. He added that the traffic officer at the scene was unable to apprehend the suspect as he was occupied with traffic control duties.

The search for the truck driver is ongoing. No injuries were reported, but the Myvi sustained damage to its bumper.

The case is being investigated under the Road Traffic Regulations 1959.
