43yo Penang Doctor Arrested for 4th Time After Being Accused of Molesting Another Female Patient

Previously, WORLD OF BUZZ reported that a doctor was detained for allegedly instructing a patient to remove her shirt and jog in place, and was also suspected of taking photos of her body using his phone.

Now, the same 43-year-old doctor from Penang has been arrested for the fourth time over a similar incident, after another female patient came forward claiming she was sexually assaulted.

Police confirmed the doctor is the same medical officer

According to BERNAMA, Acting Penang Police Chief Datuk Mohd Alwi Zainal Abidin confirmed that the doctor in question is the same medical officer previously involved in similar cases.

Meanwhile, Southwest District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Sazalee Adam stated that the doctor was arrested at the Southwest District Police Headquarters (IPD) compound at 8PM after being called in to assist with the investigation.

The arrest is linked to an alleged molestation incident involving a female patient at a private clinic in Bayan Baru on July 21.

The patient sought treatment for abdominal pain

According to the victim, the attending doctor allegedly instructed her to remove her shirt during the examination and proceeded to touch both of her breasts.

“The police received a report from a woman who claimed that at 11:46AM on June 29, she sought treatment for abdominal pain at a private clinic in Bayan Baru. Unsatisfied with what transpired, she lodged a police report on July 18,” said Sazalee Adam.

Sazalee Adam added that following the doctor’s arrest, police also seized his mobile phone to assist in the investigation.

The suspect has been remanded for three days until today (July 23), and the case is currently being investigated under Section 354 of the Penal Code.
