Earlier, a video went viral on social media showing a teacher roughly handling a young girl at a kindergarten.
According to a police statement, the 2-year-old’s mother claimed that another teacher had informed her that her daughter’s hair was pulled and she was hit while under the suspect’s care.

The teacher dragged the girl using her feet
The incident is believed to have happened on August 18 at a kindergarten in Telok Panglima Garang, Selaongr, where the teacher was caught on CCTV acting aggressively towards the child, even dragging her from the classroom to the bathroom.
Kuala Langat District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd Akmalrizal Radzi, said they received a report from the 2-year-old girl’s mother on August 24 after she reviewed the CCTV footage.
“Investigations showed the suspect, a 38-year-old local woman, had pulled the girl’s hair, dragged her using her feet, and even hit her head with a small food cover and a water bottle. While the girl didn’t have any visible injuries, the act clearly amounts to physical and mental abuse,” he said.

The teacher was subsequently arrested
Mohd Akmalrizal said the teacher was arrested after the report was lodged and was remanded for five days to help with the investigation before being released on police bail.
The case is being investigated under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001.
He added that investigations are still ongoing and urged anyone with information to come forward to the nearest police station or call the Kuala Langat District Police HQ Operations Room at 03-3187 2222.
