A fatal accident occurred yesterday (26 March) at Kilometre 3 of the New Pantai Expressway (NPE) in Petaling Jaya, involving a car and a motorcycle.
The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) confirmed receiving a report that the victim, a p-hailing rider, had collided with the rear of a vehicle.

Rider killed after crashing into broken-down car on NPE highway
Deputy Chief of Police for the Petaling Jaya District, Superintendent M. Hussin Sollehuddin Zolkifly, said in a statement that the car involved was believed to have broken down.
“Preliminary investigations show that the accident happened around 1:40 PM when the victim collided with the rear of a car that had stopped in the left lane, reportedly due to a breakdown,” he explained.
According to Berita Harian, the 38-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries.

Police appeal for witnesses
He added that the investigation is ongoing under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 and called on anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward to the nearest police station to assist.
At the same time, the police reminded all road users to follow traffic rules and regulations to prevent accidents.
“Anyone who witnessed the incident or was at the scene is urged to come forward to the nearest police station or contact the traffic investigation officer, Inspector Jayseelan A/L, at 011-10252531, or IPD Petaling Jaya at 03-79662222 to assist with the investigation.”
