A 39-year-old Malaysian man who focused solely on work in the past is out on the field to try dating again but unfortunately, fate has yet to bring him the right one.

In a recent post on the Facebook page Xuan Play, the man said that he met a 37-year-old woman at the suggestion of his friends. For the record, he earns around RM4,500 per month and has a few properties and assets.

  • 2 houses, both paid off (1 for rental purposes)
  • 2 cars (1 paid off, another still on loan)
  • Some savings, amount not disclosed.

On their 1st date at a high-end Japanese restaurant, they started talking about savings and the woman was not so happy after hearing how much he makes every month.

“You’re 40, and only make that much with not a lot of savings?”

Her response shocked him and in return, he asked about her career and earnings, expecting her to make more than him.

“I’m a kindergarten teacher. I make around RM2000 and I don’t have any savings.”

That was not all. The woman was also not happy about his appearance, saying his height (170cm) was not of her preference. The woman stands at around 158cm tall.

“She also said I’m a little old. What the hell? She’s just 2 years younger! And she kept bragging about how many people are trying to go after her, including a 27-year-old.”

While she might not be the one, fate truly had a lot of surprises in store for the man. When he wanted to settle the bill which was around RM500, the woman had the audacity to take away a set of sushi worth RM259 for her family and expect him to pay.

“My family hasn’t had dinner yet,” the woman told him.

After the night, the pair met a few more times until the man decided to end things when he knew it was not going to work. He had no intentions of spreading her flaws online but the woman did not share the same thoughts.

“My friend told me that she goes around saying I am a bad guy who gave up easily and that I deserved to stay single forever.”

We can’t control what others want to say about us. Being single at 40 can be lonely but we hope that he finds the right one soon. Ladies and gentlemen, what do you look for the most in a relationship?
