A 36-year-old Malaysian man tragically lost his life after losing control of the motorcycle he was riding and plunging into an uncovered manhole on the side of the road in Johor Bahru, Johor.
The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) confirmed the incident, revealing that it took place at Johor Bahru Selatan District’s Jalan Mutiara Emas Utama on Saturday (21 June) at around 8.20am.

In a statement, Johor Bahru Selatan District Police Chief Raub bin Selamat said that an initial investigation found that the victim was riding his SYM CF3I motorcycle from Mount Austin towards Johor Jaya when the incident happened.
At the location, the victim lost control of his motorbike and skidded to the left side of the road before plunging into an uncovered manhole on the roadside.
As a result of the accident, the victim suffered serious injuries to his head. Paramedics from the Sultan Ismail Hospital confirmed that the victim had lost his life on the spot.
Raub added that the case is currently being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
He also urged the public who witnessed the incident to channel information to the Investigating Officer, Inspector Nur Fathihah binti Ismail at 010-4171762 to assist with the investigation.
