A medical staff is one of two of the country’s most recent deaths related to Covid-19, said health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
The 32-year-old nurse from the Ministry of Health died on 23 April after being infected by Covid-19 at the start of this month.
According to Malaysia Kini, she is patient 3,871 and Malaysia’s 94th death. She had a history of high blood pressure and had come into close contact with patient 3,662, who is related to the cluster at Muar specialist hospital in Johor.
She was admitted to Hospital Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom for treatment on 6 April, but unfortunately succumbed to the illness on 23 April at 12.36am.
This is the third death involving healthcare workers.
71 new cases were recorded yesterday (23 April) bringing the total number of cases to 5,603. Of the total number, 1,966 are active including 42 patients who are in intensive care units and 21 needed breathing assistance.
90 patients have recovered bringing the total number of recoveries to 3,542 while the death toll has increased to 95.
