The school holiday season began with a tragedy last night (December 12) at a fun fair in Puncak Alam, Shah Alam when three, including a child, were injured after falling from a ride that was still in motion.

A video showing the “Squid Ride” in motion before the victims “landed” on the ground, injuring their heads. Kuala Selangor District Police chief Supt Ramli Kasa said that a phone call was made around 8:50 pm before his team rushed to the scene at Eco Grandeur, Puncak Alam.
Initial investigations revealed that the victims comprised of two women and a child, who were later brought to Shah Alam hospital for further treatment, according to Ramli. According to a report by Astro Awani, the case will be investigated according to Section 6 of the Selangor State Entertainment & Places of Entertainment Enactment 1995 for operating without a license.
Ramli also said that one of the female victims sustained a serious injury following the accident. You can watch the clip of the accident below, which was shared by Buletin TV3 via its Facebook page.
Such a mishap may prompt many families to think twice before allowing their children to hop on the ride. Regardless, we hope that necessary actions will be taken to ensure a safer environment for the visitors.
