A man was arrested in connection with the case of a 4-year-old girl who died due to drowning in a swimming pool in an apartment building in Bangi, Selangor on September 13 (Wednesday).

The suspect, the 26-year-old step brother of the victim, was arrested after he was seen on CCTV footage watching the drowning happen.

Utusan TV took to their TikTok page to showcase the horrifying footage. Viewer discretion is advised.

They wrote, “The police were only able to view the CCTV footage yesterday (September 24), the incident was reported to have happened on September 13 in Bangi.”

In the video, the little girl could be seen trying to get out of the swimming pool with a float around her waist. At one point, the float caused her to fall back into the pool upside down and she ended up slipping under the water.

As the little girl struggled for air, her step brother appeared to stand by the edge of the pool and watch it all happen until the end.

It is believed that the man is mentally differently-abled, but this has yet to be confirmed.
