24yo Man Falls from 27th Floor of Melaka Homestay, Just 2 Hours After Checking In with Fiancée

A 24-year-old Malaysian man tragically fell to his death from an apartment in Melaka just two hours after checking in with his fiancée.

According to the Melaka police (PDRM), the incident occurred at around 2:30 am on Friday (August 15), shortly after the couple checked into the homestay. The deceased’s fiancée is 21 years old.

The incident came to light when another tenant of the condominium heard a loud thump near the pool. Upon investigating, the witness saw what appeared to be a human body and immediately contacted the police.

Police arrived at the scene and confirmed that the body found in the pool was that of a man, with his left hand severed. Firefighters were deployed to retrieve the body from the pool.

The victim heard a knock before the fall

According to his fiancée, the victim mentioned hearing a knock at the door before rushing to the balcony, attempting to descend to the floor below. He is believed to have slipped and fallen to his death, landing in the pool on the 7th floor.

Melaka Tengah District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Christopher Patit, confirmed that CCTV footage showed no other movements or individuals involved during the time of the incident.

 

At present, the case has been classified as a Sudden Death Report (SDR), as reported by Sinar Harian.
