Three men and a woman were caught for ‘khalwat’ (close proximity) by Johor Islamic Religious Department (JAINJ) officers in a hotel room in Kluang, Johor.

JAINJ said the 12:30 AM raid yesterday (August 18) was carried out following a public tip-off.

The woman willingly agreed to be with the 3 men

According to Harian Metro, checks showed that the 23-year-old woman had willingly agreed to be with them and was even believed to have been paid.

Investigations revealed that one of the men had taken her out for a meal before bringing her to the hotel.

“At the time, two of his friends were already waiting in the room, and the woman knew they were there,” JAINJ said.

“They booked the room for 2 nights”

JAINJ further noted that the group had booked the hotel room online, and the arrest was subsequently carried out.

“They had booked the hotel room online for two nights, and the arrest was made on the second night (last night).”

All of them will be charged under Section 27 of the Syariah Criminal Offences Enactment 1997.
