We’ve heard of a lot of child marriages and pedophile cases but this one seems to stick out.

A 22-year-old single mother in Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture had sexual relations with a 12-year-old boy, reported China Press.

The two met each other when they were playing a mobile game. The 12-year-old ran away from his home, which was 490km away, to meet Rika (the 22 year-old) in her house where they later had sexual intercourse.

Sina even revealed that Rika had posted intimate pictures of them on social media.

Rika said that before her underage lover, she never had a lot of luck with men as most of the men that she was with were either abusive or liked to cheat. She was “mentally exhausted” and did not feel loved.

Rika is around 156cm tall and has a very fair complexion. When she was in high school, she was very popular because she fit in the “kawaii” category, but as she was introverted, she did not go out from her house often and would always play video games, so she had few friends.

Rika has been arrested by the Japanese police. She has also reached an agreement with the young boy’s family to never contact or meet him ever again, though the boy has expressed that he still cannot let her go.

According to Japanese law, sex with minors (under 13 years old), even if consensual, is a serious offense.

Rika will be sent to a specialised medical institution in Kansai to receive counselling and treatment for paedophilia.
