It’s frightening to think of the job scam victims in Thailand and Cambodia who have yet to be rescued. Even more than a year later, the viral missing girl in KL has yet to be located, despite multiple rumors about her whereabouts.

It’s heartbreaking to ponder on the fate of the victims who long to go home, and sadly, another missing person is feared to have fallen prey to the syndicate. 22-year-old Anggie disappeared into thin air after her mother had lost contact with her recently, and Anggie’s last message to her mother was a good morning text.

Anggie works as a beautician since she finished her SPM examination, and she has been living alone in a rented house in Puchong. Her mother, who stays in a different state, and despite the distance, they have a good relationship and are always in contact.

On May 29, Anggie called and informed her mother that she was currently in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Anggie said that she was in need of some cash, and she was going to do so by doing a purchasing job in the country at her friend’s company.

However, Angie did not disclose the kind of items that she would need to purchase.

Angie last texted her mom on Thursday morning (June 1) before she “went off the radar”. Her mother, who is well aware of the news of job scam victims in the neighboring countries, admitted to feeling fearful that her daughter MIGHT become 1 of the victims of the notorious syndicate.

“We have a good relationship. She’ll never cut off contact with me, especially when she’s out of the country.”

At the time of writing, Anggie’s mother has lodged a police report, and based on the information that she managed to gather from Anggie’s colleagues, no one knows anything about the type of purchasing that she said she was going to get involved in.

“Anggie’s boss advised her not to go, but she insisted that she needed some cash, and she went to Thailand eventually,” her mother said.

Should you have any information, do contact her mother at 014-3282626.

We sincerely hope that Anggie will return home to her family safely.
