Growing up is not all it’s cracked up to be. Suddenly you’re swamped with huge responsibilities like finances, career and of course, loans and bills to pay.
Seriously, at times we wonder if Peter Pan had the right idea all along. Why would you ever want to grow up?
OK to be honest, nobody wants to be a kid forever, but growing up is definitely a pain. As we are forced to face adult responsibility, inside, only you truly know if you’re still a kid at heart. So here are those 20 signs that prove you probably still are!
1. You don’t like coffee
As adults have way too many things on their plate, they tend to depend on coffee to fuel their day – especially at the very start of it! If the mere idea of sipping on coffee grosses you out, then you may still be a kid at heart.
2. You laugh at inappropriate moments
At meetings, awkward luncheons and even during serious appraisals. You can’t help it. You still retained that childish reaction when something is deemed nerve wrecking.
3. There are days when you still think you have super powers
Lift suddenly opens without you pushing the button? Jedi mind skills. Sensing a phone call before it happens? Psychic powers. Weirdly packaged mail sent you? It’s probably your long overdue Hogwarts letter.
No matter how silly or mundane something might seem to a real adult, you still sense magic in the ordinary things in life, and that’s what makes you still a kid on the inside.
4. You still wish you could ride the cart in the grocery store
Remember back when we didn’t have to carry our lazy selves around the grocery store or mall? Yeah, good times.

You try to casually walk inside a Toys R Us, saying to anyone that bothered to ask that you’re just browsing for gifts for your nephew or nieces, when actually you just want to see all the cool toys.
6. You still poke the Mimosa piducas or daun putri malu
If you can’t resist touching a cluster of the daun malu, even at the side of the road, then you’re definitely a child on the inside. There’s no shame. I do it all the time!

9. You still want to jump on beds
You exercise a lot of self-restrain when you’re at home thought. Hey, beds are a hassle to make! But… hotel beds and your good friend’s bed is fair game though.
10. You whine a lot, even at the littlest things
Hey, it isn’t my fault that my colleague Amy is being such a bij!
11. People still tell you not to touch anything when you’re in an expensive store
Your family and friends still deem you hazardous around breakable things, and nothing you say will ever convince them otherwise. You could be casually walking near a glass display and their reaction is akin to seeing a real bull in a China shop.
12. You still spin around in the swivel chairs
13. You don’t let your foot hang at the edge of bed
Ok, you know logically there can’t be a monster under your bed. But.. what if?

14. You get weirded out when people call you ‘Kak’ and ‘Abang’ instead of ‘Adik’
Especially when the person calling you that looks like a young adult themselves. Regardless of how old you are, you still think that you and teenagers are within the same age bracket.
15. You dream about what life would be like when you’re a real adult, despite already being a real adult
You fantasize of growing up to be a movie star, astronaut, etc, but you’ve technically already reached adulthood. A sign of still thinking like an adolescent is to still be amazed by the endless opportunities that lies ahead of you. Truthfully? It’s a good thing. Adults tend to forget that it’s still OK to dream, because there’s no time stamps on what you can achieve in your life, if you really work hard for it.
