2 Passengers Killed, 16 Injured After Johor Tour Bus Crashes Into 2 Lorries

Two people were killed after a tour bus carrying 45 passengers was involved in an accident in Johor on July 3.

According to Berita Harian, 16 others were injured when the bus collided with two lorries at Kilometre 80.7 of the southbound North-South Expressway near Ayer Hitam.

“The two passengers were trapped”

The crash is believed to have happened around 12:30 AM, with both fatalities involving bus passengers.

Ayer Hitam Fire and Rescue Station operations commander, Md Isa Masngun, said they received an emergency call at 12:44 AM and immediately dispatched seven personnel to the scene.

“Two bus passengers were found trapped and were pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. 16 others, including the bus driver and several passengers, sustained injuries,” he said.

The accident involved 3 vehicles

Upon arrival, they found that the accident involved three vehicles: a tour bus carrying 46 people, including the driver, and two lorries.

“The remaining 28 passengers were unharmed. The injured victims were sent to the hospital by ambulance,” he said.

Both the 42-year-old tow truck driver and the 33-year-old tanker lorry driver were unharmed in the incident.
