2 police officers have recently been brought to court over allegations of robbing an Indonesian woman.
The 2 officers with the rank of lance corporal were brought to the Ayer Keroh Sessions Court under Section 395 of the Penal Code for gang robbery.
Both of them were accused of robbing an Indonesian woman by taking her bracelet, an Indonesian passport, and a debit card; the loss is said to be around RM1,800.
According to BERNAMA, the case took place at the Hotel Bajet AMT Hotel Plaza Mahkota, Melaka Tengah at about 10 to 11.30pm on 3 April.
Other than that, the pair who have been in service for 7 years is also accused of illegally possessing the woman’s passport.
If found guilty of robbery, they will face a maximum of 20 years in jail along with caning. As for the illegal possession of the passport, they will face a maximum of 5 years in jail and/or a fine of no more than RM10,000.
The bail is set at RM9,000 per person and they will need to report to the police station once a month. The next mention date has been set to 23 May.
Well, we certainly hope that the authorities will get to the bottom of this case.
