2 MACC Officers & 1 Ex-Personnel Charged With Gang Robbery Totalling Over RM952k

Two separate Sessions Courts have charged two Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers and one former personnel of the commission in two separate charges for robbing various items, including a Louis Vuitton (LV) bag and cash totalling RM952,590 belonging to a Chinese national.

The two MACC officers are 33-year-old Muhamad Haffiz Mohd Radzi and 41-year-old Mohd Fahmee Mohamad Nor, 41, while the ex-personnel is 38-year-old Azwan Asli.

The 3 of them pleaded not guilty, with the 2 MACC officers’ case heard before Judge Izralizam Sanusi. Meanwhile, the 1 ex-personnel was charged before Judge Siti Aminah Ghazali.

The 3 were accused of committing gang robbery against businessman Kun Gao and stealing from him cash amounting to RM952,690, Yuan 1225, a silver-coloured suitcase, and a black LV bag.

The offences were allegedly committed at a Jalan Ampang residence on the noon of 10 December 2021. They face charges under Section 395 of the Penal Code, providing a maximum penalty of 20 years in jail and whipping if convicted.

Judge Izralizam approved bail of RM12,000 with a surety each for Muhamad Haffiz and Mohd Fahmee. They were also given additional conditions of having to report to the police station monthly, refrain from harassing witnesses and surrender their passports to the court until the case is concluded.

Meanwhile, Judge Siti Aminah approved bail of RM10,000 with a surety for Azwan, along with the condition that he must report to the nearby police station once a month. Both Sessions Courts 4 February 2024 for the next mention of the cases.
