17 Roads in Klang Valley Will Be Closed for Chinese President Xi Jinping’s Upcoming Visit

Chinese President Xi Jin Ping is scheduled to visit Malaysia from Tuesday to Thursday (April 15 to April 17), and the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) have announced the road diversion and closures in Klang Valley for the event.

Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) Director Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said the road closure and diversion will be in place for 30 to 45 minutes to make way for the delegation before reopening, according to an official statement.

A total of 17 routes will be closed, so this will come in handy to those who often travel on KL roads.

April 15 (Tuesday), 6 pm

The affected routes are the KLIA Highway, North-South Motorway Central Link (ELITE), Putrajaya Ring Road, Putrajaya-Dengkil Highway, Persiaran Selatan, Lebuh Gemilang and Jalan P5.

April 16 (Wednesday), 9:30 am

On this day, the road closures are expected to take place on these routes: Jalan P5, Gemilang Motorway, Persiaran Selatan, Putrajaya-Dengkil Motorway, Putrajaya Ring Road, MEX Motorway, Shah Alam Motorway (Kesas), Setiawangsa-Pantai Motorway (SPE), Sungai Besi-Ulu Kelang Elevated Motorway (SUKE), New Pantai Motorway (NPE), Smart Tunnel, KL-Seremban Motorway, Jalan Istana, Jalan Damansara, Jalan Sultan Abdul Halim and Jalan Sultan Iskandar.

On the same day at this hour, Jalan Sultan Abdul Halim, Jalan Sultan Iskandar, Jalan Damansara, Jalan Istana, KL-Seremban Motorway, NPE, SUKE, SPE, Kesas, MEX, Lingkaran Putrajaya, Putrajaya-Dengkil Motorway, Persiaran Selatan, Lebuh Gemilang and Jalan P5 will also be affected.

He said several other routes that will also be affected from 4:10 pm to 6:30 pm include Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, Lebuh Perdana Barat, and Persiaran Seri Perdana.

April 17 (Thursday), 8:50 am

Road users should expect closures on Jalan P5, Lebuh Gemilang, Persiaran Selatan, Putrajaya-Dengkil Highway, Lingkaran Putrajaya, ELITE, and Lebuh KLIA.

JSPT calls on all road users to avoid the route involved during the full closure and road diversions that are being implemented by planning their movements and obeying the instructions of officers.
