A total of 161 individuals at a pub in Damansara Utama were fined RM1,000 each for not maintaining physical distancing, hence violating the standard operating procedures (SOPs) during the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO).

According to Harian Metro, a raid was carried out on the premises by the Selangor Secret Societies, Gambling and Vice (D7) Division of the Selangor Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK) at 10.30pm on 5 September.

Visitors were found sitting ‘densely’ in the premises with no physical distancing in place, according to Selangor D7 Staff Officer, Deputy Superintendent Zuhairee Mohamad Rashid.

“All the individuals were aged 20 to 40 and were found not complying with physical distancing and the rules set during the period of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO),” he said.

“All of them were compounded and allowed to return after the compound was handed out to them.”

He added that they will continue to ensure that people comply with the SOP and reminded the community to follow the rules or face action.

The Covid-19 season in Malaysia is not over yet. Don’t think the authorities will not take action against those who are not complying with the SOPs during the RMCO because they will!
