Just yesterday (2nd October), people everywhere were shocked by another brutal case involving a 15-year-old Indian girl who was assaulted and murdered by a group of teenage boys who tried to rape her.
According to The Times of India, 15-year-old Suvita Yadav from Uttar Pradesh was walking home from school after an annual celebration of Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday when three boys began chasing her, attempting to rape her. The boys then hanged her from a nearby tree using a scarf she was wearing after she resisted their attempts.
Suvita was already near her home when this incident happened and her brother was in their family farm when he heard her screams. He rushed over to her aid.
When he saw his sister hanging from the tree, he claimed that he ran to help her down, but the three boys prevented him from getting near her and beat him up. Sadly, Suvita succumbed to her injuries and passed away not long after that.
In a report by The Sun, the three boys were eventually caught by local villagers who handed them over to the police, leading to their arrest. Meanwhile, a post-mortem revealed that the young girl was not raped.
The case is still being investigated by the authorities, while Suvita’s grieving family is demanding for justice to be served. We hope investigations are carried out fairly and our thoughts go out to this young girl’s family.
