The Kuala Lumpur Road Transport Department (JPJ) seized 65 motorcycles during inspections of 3,244 vehicles in three separate operations carried out around the capital last night (Dec 27).
The youngest rider, only 14 years old, was caught riding a motorcycle without a licence.

When questioned, the boy told JPJ officers he was headed to a nearby restaurant for dinner with his brother—but that wasn’t all. He made a shocking confession, admitting it wasn’t his first encounter with the authorities.
He had previously been fined by the police for the same offence
Senior Director of JPJ Enforcement, Datuk Muhammad Kifli Ma Hassan, said the operations on Jalan Genting Sempah, Gombak Toll, and Jalan Ampang included areas around the KLCC Twin Towers. During the checks, JPJ also discovered motorcycles modified at a cost of up to RM18,000 solely for speed and noise.
In another case, a female secondary school student from Seri Kembangan rode her sister’s motorcycle to meet a friend without permission, claiming her sister was unaware she had taken the bike, as reported by China Press and Berita RTM.
She burst into tears after being caught by JPJ officers, saying even her parents had no idea about her whereabouts.

Datuk Muhammad Kifli said the main focus of the operation was to curb extreme motorcycle modifications often linked to street gang activities, as well as to act on public complaints about disturbances and noise.
The inspections also included checks on technical specifications, licence plate validity, and whether road tax had been renewed.
