Residents of Simpang Ampat, Seberang Perai, Penang, were left stunned after discovering a 12-foot python inside a school toilet. The find prompted a swift response from locals, who managed to capture the reptile and hand it over to the authorities.
The incident gained traction after Penang Kini took to Facebook to share images of the massive snake and the residents’ efforts to secure it.

In its post, the page noted:
“Yesterday’s incident at a school in Simpang Ampat caused a stir when a 12-foot-long python was found hiding in a toilet bowl.
“The anxious moment ended when the snake was finally captured and handed over to the authorities for further action.”
How did the snake get there?
It is believed that snakes can enter toilets through sewage lines or roof-level vents. They often navigate plumbing gaps in older buildings, climb nearby trees to access roof vents, or enter through cracked, poorly sealed sewage pipes.
The discovery has sparked significant concern among parents and the local community. Online comments reflect a mix of shock and fear.

“There must be holes in the sewage system; otherwise, how could it get in?”

“It’s huge! The students will definitely have a phobia of using the toilet after this. May our children be kept safe from such incidents.”

“I’m imagining a child in Year One discovering it. It’s terrifying even to think about. May our children always be protected.”
