This is very frightening!
Berita Harian reported that an 11-year-old girl was raped by four youths in a house at Taman Bersatu, Arau, Perlis. According to Arau district police chief superintendent Nanda Maarof, the poor victim lodged a complaint at the police station after her teacher notified the girl’s parents about the horrific incident. Such a brave girl and teacher!
Nanda was quoted as saying,
“The incident took place on 2 September 2018, at around 2.30am. The victim left her home in Felda Chuping and went out with three suspects aged 15 to 20 years old whom she started being friends with since May 2018.”
“They rode two motorcycles to a house in Taman Bersatu, Arau where another 15-year-old suspect was waiting for them.”
Then, Nanda revealed that the youths took turns to rape the young girl in a room in that house before sending her back home in the early morning. He later added that the victim told them about the fateful incident days after because she initially wanted to keep it a secret. Never suffer in silence!
However, her teacher found out about her rape after the girl shared her woes with her friends. As of now, all four suspects have been identified and they have been remanded for seven days until 19 September 2018 under the order of Kangar Court Registrar Senior Assistant, Nurul Hafzan Ab Aziz.
He then explained that this case will be investigated under Section 375 B of the Penal Code, which carries a minimum jail sentence of 10 years and a maximum of 30 years, including whipping.
Luckily, the authorities have quickly caught the suspects and kudos to the teacher who brought this case to the police. Remember, never suffer in silence because justice must be served!
