Now, us Malaysians have even more reasons to be proud of her: She has just been nominated for a BET Award, which is a major American award held every year! *Cue applause*

Her song, Crush, featuring Usher, has been nominated for the BET Centric 2017 award, which is for neo soul and R&B artists like her. The wonderful news was shared on Yuna Music Records’ official Instagram page.

The BET Centric award has been won by huge artists in the past, such as The Weeknd and yes, even Beyoncé herself!

The BET (Black Entertainment Television) Awards are held every year in the United States, and are specifically focused on celebrating black artists and artists of colour.
