Uncle Kentang has recently expressed deep concern over the tragic incidents involving students from Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management & Technology (TAR UMT).
In a Facebook post, he shared a video urging students not to give up on life and offering his full support to anyone facing difficulties.
In his emotional message, Uncle Kentang conveyed how saddened he was to hear about students taking their own lives. He assured that he is always ready to lend a helping hand, regardless of the issue whether it’s academic challenges, family problems, or financial struggles.
“I am your companion. Although I may be older, if you ever face problems with your studies, family, or finances, you can always reach out to me,” he said.

“If you’re struggling financially to continue your studies, if your mother is unwell, or if your family is facing hardship, please don’t be afraid. Failing exams is not the end, you can always try again,” he added.
He also mentioned that he is willing to offer practical help, such as transportation to classes and financial aid even for those who wish to retake their exams.
Uncle Kentang, whose real name is Kuan Chee Heng, took the opportunity to remind students of the sacrifices their parents have made, from pregnancy through to their education.

“From the moment you were in your mother’s womb, she carefully protected you. She endured months of hardship to bring you into this world. Please don’t end your life so easily. Give your parents a chance, and give yourself a chance too,” he said.
He concluded by reminding students, “Life is not a race. It is a journey to be taken step by step.”
