Sultan Ibrahim, the King of Malaysia, took matters into his own hands recently by walking 3.2km along Jalan Gallagher to personally check on the area’s cleanliness.
In a post on his official Facebook page, the King pointed out blocked drains and litter scattered along the roadside during his surprise visit.

He called on local authorities to step up and take quick action to keep the area clean and safe.
“Trash by the roadside isn’t just unsightly, it can attract Aedes mosquitoes and pose health risks to nearby residents.”
The King also noticed large tree branches hanging over the road, which he said could be dangerous, especially for motorcyclists at night.

This isn’t the first time His Majesty has taken such an initiative. A few months ago, he walked around Kuala Lumpur to check on the capital’s cleanliness and even stopped to have breakfast with locals.
“His Majesty is very concerned about the cleanliness and well-being of the public environment, in line with efforts to ensure that Kuala Lumpur remains a clean and orderly city,” they added.
