Residents in Sarawak have been reminded to keep an eye on their pets after a recent minor road accident involving a driver who hit an animal.
A Facebook page urged people not to let their animals roam freely after a car accidentally struck a “goose” wandering on the road.

Driver accidentally strikes a flying duck in Sarawak
According to the post, the driver’s windshield was cracked after hitting the animal that was reportedly in flight at the time.

“Just a reminder: if you’re keeping geese as pets, don’t let them roam freely. Some people have already had their windshield damaged after hitting a flying goose,” the post read.
Unfortunately, the collision also killed the animal, with several photos showing its body lying on the road. Netizens, however, quickly flooded the comment section with their reactions, with some even correcting the Facebook user, saying it was actually a Serati (Muscovy) duck.

Netizens’ reactions

“Hold on, loading… when did geese learn how to fly?”

“Is that a goose or a duck? Geese can’t even fly.”

“It’s a Serati duck, not a goose. I’ve never seen a goose fly before.”

“You can try grilling it yourself, since at a restaurant it can get quite pricey.”

“Just send that duck straight to the grill.”

“Ducks, geese, and other animals shouldn’t be allowed to roam freely. If I come across them, I’ll make sure to take action, especially if they’re hit on purpose.”
