Due to the ongoing pandemic and the countless lockdowns throughout the globe, many out there are struggling, some more than others. Many have received pay cuts or even lost their jobs. Families are struggling to put food on the table and pay their rent.

A landlord in Thailand however, decided to help improve the situation by waiving tenants’ rent at an apartment in Bangkok for three whole months. He even decided to leave some goodies outside their doors, filled with dried foods.

According to Sanook and Naewna, the reason behind the landlord’s kindness is to give the tenants some sort of emotional support and encouragement as well as financial aid.

The items in their goodie bags include:

  • packages of instant noodles
  • a bag of rice
  • canned food
  • cartons of Ovaltine

The landlord even attached a letter onto the goodie bags, which read:

“Covid-19 has heavily affected you and other tenants. Whether it be your jobs, financial stability, or mental health. Out of concern, we’ve decided to provide you with a gift of household supplies. We hope these will give you some encouragement. Please take care of your health. We’ll get through this together”

During these trying times, empathy and kindness are traits that can go a long way. Let us be reminded to look out for each other and show compassion and kindness towards one another.

We’ll get through this together.
