If you’re a 90’s kid, CSI has got to be one of the shows that defined your teenage years. Remember staying glued in front of the TV trying to figure out who the perpetrator was and being super proud if we guessed right? Ah good old days.

It’s a pity we never got a CSI: Kuala Lumpur TV series though as that’ll be super awesome! Recently, however, there was a local event called the Allianz Road Rangers Amazing Hunt which shows us a glimpse of what a Malaysian CSI show would be like and the best part about it? It was open to the public!

Sounds amazing right? Just check out a snippet of the event here:

A unique event which can only be described as a fusion between CSI and The Amazing Race, participants were tasked with going around Kuala Lumpur and Selangor to solve the mysterious disappearance of Mr Adam Apakenamanya, an aviation entrepreneur and a self-made millionaire. Woah, missing person case weh!

What’s more, the participants didn’t even know where the final destination of the event was and only have these facts of the case to build up from:

  • Mr Adam was supposed to meet with his assistant, Miss Reesau for a discussion over lunch but he never showed up.
  • All attempts to locate him have failed.
  • Initial investigation points to him being involved in an accident. However, his exact location can’t be pinpointed.
  • A hack on his phone records shows that he last made a call to an unknown number.

And that was ALL the info given at the start! Yikes, how are they supposed to solve the case with so little to go by? If it was us, we would have given up at the very start! 😛

Encompassing 45 cars, 8 checkpoints and 8 unique challenges stretching from Plaza Sentral, Kuala Lumpur all the way to Pulau Carey, Selangor the event was definitely an exhilarating challenge that would leave you at the edge of your seat!

Another highlight of the event has got to be the two celebrity teams made up of your favourite personalities from Hot FM led by Zetty and Fly FM by Ivan which battled each other to find out who has the better investigative skills.
