The state elections for six states, Selangor, Kelantan, Terengganu, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah and Penang will take place on 12 August.
This means that political parties are all scrambling around to connect to the rakyat in the ways that they do best.
As for Datuk Seri Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar who is the caretaker chief minister of Terengganu and also a member of the PAS political party, he decided that he will “bond” with young voters in the state by speaking their language: going on a motorcycle convoy with them.
This convoy was led by the caretaker CM and in the back seat of his motorcycle was his wife, Tuan Faizah Tuan Ab Rahman.
It took about 20 minutes for the convoy to reach where they gave their manifesto for the first time. According to PAS, more than 10,000 youths joined in.
We’re not entirely sure if the numbers are correct but you can see for yourself in the first 30 minutes of this live stream.
During the event, PAS and PN said as part of their manifesto that if they win this state election, they will be offering interest-free motorcycle loans for those who earn less than RM4,000.
It does seem like PDRM was informed of the convoy (as there is police presence recorded around the route), so they probably wouldn’t be fined like this supercar convoy.
