Meant to house one million tenants, Forest City, Johor, is nowhere near its target occupants, with only a handful of its units currently occupied.
What is known today as a ghost town, previous occupants have been cited stating that all they wanted to do while living there was to get out.
Taking to TikTok, this netizen shared how she recorded a video of her rather unkept next-door unit, full of broken furniture and looked rather spooky.
Despite the rather scary-looking video, netizens who lived there mentioned other aspects of Forest City and what it is like to live there.
“As residents of Forest City, it is quite calming to live here.”
“Forest City is now full of people, especially those working in Singapore. Sure, it may look scary from the outside because of the vegetation, but I don’t think there’s anything weird going on as it is quite remote,” commented a user.
However, some experienced otherwise.
“I stayed there for five nights when my husband was travelling for work to Johor Bharu. Every night I would hear moving furniture, but made nothing of it.”
